“揪”和“拔”，英文都用同一个词，是哪个？

Tree和bush，有没有统一的说法？

宝宝够不到要摘的果子，怎么表达“我把你抱起来”？

FRUIT AND VEGETABLE PICKING 采摘

带宝宝去采摘之前，先学习一下，对于不同生长方式的瓜果，摘它们的不同英文。我们分6种植物讲，结尾附录还补充了30种瓜果的中英文名称和生长位置。

Mom: Would you like to go and pick fruit and vegetables today?

妈妈：你今天想去采摘水果和蔬菜吗？

Fruit通常作不可数名词，只在当“一种水果”讲时作可数名词，如：How many fruits do you see? 你看到了几种水果？

Child: Yes, please!

宝宝：嗯嗯！

Mom: We are going to a farm

妈妈：咱们要去一个农场，

where we can go in the fields

可以到田里去，

and pick our own strawberries, carrots, tomatoes, blueberries, cabbages, and apples.

自己摘草莓、胡萝卜、西红柿、蓝莓、圆白菜和苹果。

【At the Farm 在农场】

Mom: We are here at the farm.

妈妈：我们到农场了。

We need to get some baskets

咱们去找几个筐，

to put our fruit and vegetables in after we pick them.

摘完水果和蔬菜好放到里面。

★ 1 Strawberries - Growing on an Herb Plant

草莓—长在草本植物上

美式英语里，herb读作 ，h不发音，冠词用an。英式英语读作 ，冠词用a。

Child: I found the strawberries!

宝宝：我找到草莓啦！

Mom: That is right.

妈妈：对的。

Now you can pull the red ones off

现在你可以把红的揪下来，

and put them gently into this basket.

轻轻地放在这个篮子里。

Child: What about the green ones?

宝宝：那些绿的呢？

Mom: The green ones are not ripe yet.

妈妈：绿的还没熟呢。

They still need to grow some more

它们还需要再长一长，

and turn red and sweet

等红了、甜了，

before they are ready to pick and eat.

才可以摘、可以吃。

Excellent, you have filled up your basket.

太棒了，你已经把篮子装满了。

★ 2 Carrots - Growing Underground

胡萝卜—长在地下

Mom: Let's find where the carrots are growing.

妈妈：咱们去找找胡萝卜长在哪儿。

Here they are.

在这儿呢。

Child: I don't see any carrots, Mommy.

宝宝：我没看到胡萝卜呀，妈妈。

Mom: Carrots grow underground.

妈妈：胡萝卜长在地下。

So all we can see is their green tops above the ground.

所以我们只能看到地面上的绿绿的头儿。

Now let's get down to the ground.

现在咱们到地里去。

Grab the green tops

抓住绿色的头儿，

and pull them slowly out of the ground.

然后慢慢地把它们从地里 *** 。

Great job!

太棒了！

You picked your own carrots.

你自己摘胡萝卜了。

★ 3 Tomatoes - Growing on a Vine

西红柿—长在藤上

Mom: Let's pick some tomatoes.

妈妈：咱们摘点西红柿吧。

Tomatoes grow on vines.

西红柿长在藤上。

Look, the vines grow up into the tomato cages

看，藤会长到西红柿架子上，

so they have more space to grow

这样它们有更多空间生长，

and the vines don't break from all the tomatoes.

藤也不会被西红柿压坏。

Child: Wow, they are so big!

宝宝：哇，好大呀！

Mom: Be gentle.

妈妈：轻点。

Move the vines out of the way,

把藤拨开，

but don't bump the other tomatoes.

但是不要碰到其他西红柿。

They come off the vine easily.

它们很容易从藤上掉下来的。

Child: This one looks good.

宝宝：这个看起来不错。

Can we have this tomorrow at lunch?

咱们明天中午能吃它吗？

Mom: Sure!

妈妈：当然！

Good choice.

还挺会挑的。

It looks perfectly ripe.

这个一看就完全熟了。

★ 4 Blueberries - Growing on a Bush

蓝莓—长在灌木上

Mom: Let's go and find some blueberry plants now.

妈妈：现在咱们去找找蓝莓树吧。

中文里，木本植物，包括乔木和灌木都叫“树”。但是在英文中，乔木是tree，灌木是bush，他们的统一说法是plant，而plant也可以指藤本、草本植物的植株。

Their plants are taller than strawberry plants.

它们的植株比草莓的高。

Child: Do I just pull it off the plant like this?

宝宝：我是这样把它从树上揪下来吗？

Mom: Yes, that is right.

妈妈：嗯，是的。

Pull gently and put it into the basket.

轻轻揪，然后放在篮子里。

Well done, I think we have enough.

好的，我觉得够了。

★ 5 Cabbages - Growing on the Ground

圆白菜—长在地上

Mom: Now we can pick the cabbages.

妈妈：现在我们可以摘圆白菜了。

Child: Where are the cabbages?

宝宝：圆白菜在哪儿呢？

Mom: They are hiding in those leaves.

妈妈：它们藏在叶子里了。

Push the leaves out of the way and you'll see them.

拨开叶子你就能看见它们了。

Child: Which ones are ripe?

宝宝：哪个是熟了的？

Mom: The ripe cabbages feel hard when you touch them.

妈妈：熟了的圆白菜摸起来很硬。

I will pick the cabbages

我来摘圆白菜，

because I have to use a sharp knife

因为我需要用一把锋利的刀，

to cut them from the root.

把它从根上割下来。

I think two will be enough.

我觉得两个足够了。

★ 6 Apples - Growing on a Tree

苹果—长在树上

Mom: Let's find the apple trees now!

妈妈：现在咱们去找苹果树！

Child: I see them, Mommy.

宝宝：我看见了，妈妈。

They are over there!

在那边呢！

The apples are too high for me.

苹果树对我来说太高了。

I can't reach them.

我够不着。

Mom: Yes, these are up high.

妈妈：嗯，是挺高的。

I will lift you up so you can pick a couple

我把你举起来摘一些，

此时如果想说“我把你抱起来”，以下哪个选项正确？答案在文章结尾。

A. Let mommy give you a hug.

B. Let mommy hold you.

C. Let mommy carry you.

D. Let mommy pick you up.

and I will pick the rest.

剩下的我摘。

Grab the apple and pull it off the branch.

It's time to go home.
